Long Bio
From Rock to Classical music...and Back !
My name is Iordanis, and I am a music composer from Hellas. For me, music knows no boundaries—neither in genre nor in language. It is a bridge, a vessel, a way of carrying memory and imagination from one world to another. My journey has led me through rock stages, intimate singer-songwriter nights, and into the cinematic landscapes of orchestral and instrumental music. Every release, every concert, every collaboration has been another step in discovering what sound can become when it is given space to breathe.
Early Days
My story begins in 2006, when at fifteen I formed my first rock bands. Rock was my first language, and it remains a part of me to this day (with The Fallen Ones). Before my solo career, I performed with Greek bands such as The Red Wine Band (2007–2010) and Μουσικοί Ιχνηλάτες (Musical Trackers, 2008–2012). With them, I shared stages with renowned Greek artists like Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Dionysis Tsaknis, Miltos Paschalidis, Michalis Kakepis, Locomondo, and many others.
Solo Career
In 2012, after my military service, I released my debut solo album Χειμώνας (Winter) with songs such as Θα σε Ξαναδώ – I Will See You Again and Balarina. The album was warmly embraced by listeners and critics, leading to tours and concerts across Greece. In 2013, I performed charity concerts such as the one at Palia Ilektriki in Volos for orphans.
My second album Ψάχνω στο Φως (Searching in the Light) arrived in 2016, marking a milestone in my career. The album featured a collaboration with legendary singer Vasilis Papakonstantinou (Μας Προδώσαν – They Betrayed Us) and a moving duet with Rita Antonopoulou (Ο κόσμος άλλαξε νωρίς – The World Changed Soon). The same year, I also participated in the release of the album Του Ορίζοντα Σελίδες (Pages of the Horizon) by the band Ηχώ των Δρόμων (Echo of the Streets), contributing vocals to the track Γείρε στο πλάι μου – Stand Beside Me.
In 2018, I released the short-length album Τα παιδικά μου ρούχα (My Childish Clothes) under my own artistic network M.O.Re – Music Of Revolution, a collective of Greek and European artists including Haris Loufopoulos, Nikos Mergialis, Christos Daskalopoulos, and Iasonas Toufexis.
In 2019, my band The Fallen Ones released the EP Rise With Me, followed by appearances in Dublin. That same year I also released the piano album As The Leaves Fall.
In 2020, I composed the full soundtrack for the award-winning short film No One is Perfect and also released my rendition of the Sardinian hymn Deus ti Salvet Maria.
In 2021, I began releasing singles and music videos for what would later become my album Steel and Rust. The singles included Μονάχος και Γυμνός (Alone and Naked) (2021) and Είσαι η Φωτιά που Καίει – You Are The Fire (2022). Meanwhile, I also participated in the New Voices of Ireland project, creating the piece Shahmaran in collaboration with Iranian visual artist Nasrin Golden.
In 2022, The Fallen Ones returned to selected gigs and studio work for Steel and Rust.
In 2024, I performed acoustic shows in Greece, and later that year, I released the full album Steel and Rust, a work embodying contrast: fragility and resilience, decay and endurance, a dialogue between rock intensity and orchestral depth.
In 2025, I unveiled the single Upon Psara, a powerful prelude to my upcoming album Σε Ανέμια και Νησιά (In Winds and Islands). This song also serves as a remembrance of the Greek genocide and a reminder of unity against division in today’s society.
Collaborations and Stages
Throughout my career, I have opened or shared stages with artists such as Giannis Aggelakas, George Xylouris, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Apostolos Mosios, and Stathis Drogosis. In Ireland, I had the honor of sharing the stage with Donal Lunny during a charity concert for the 2018 Mati wildfires.
Academic and Parallel Paths
Alongside my music, I pursued studies and careers that expanded my horizons. I hold a Business Development Diploma (2019), a Digital Skills certification (2021), Professional Project Management certifications (2022), a BA in Data Centre Management (2024), and a BA in Psychology (2025). From 2021 to 2024, I worked at Google, later at PayPal, while also founding a business and engaging in real estate projects. Far from distractions, these experiences enriched my artistic vision and allowed me to create a vast reservoir of material, much of which is only now being released.
Today
Currently based in Dublin, I am preparing the upcoming album Σε Ανέμια και Νησιά (In Winds and Islands) and recording my musical settings of Irish poet Seumas O’Kelly’s work. A second piano album, Sail On, is also in preparation.
My name in Greek is Ιορδάνης Σιδηρόπουλος—but for international friends, simply iordAnis.
Stay tuned—more is always on the horizon.
