Modern Classical Projects
iordAnis - my name, alternatively ...
Whatever music genre I have ever played, from traditional to rock and back, I have been always been loving and got excited about melodies that drive your soul. More specifically, I always loved the sound of the piano and the violin and so I have been always composing on them but with ought releasing any music. Now that the circumstances are flourishing for such a project, I am starting my way on the Modern-Classical way of composition that suggests international dynamics. One thing I realised since I started living abroad, is that music brings down every potential barrier of language and culture habits. So I believe that music can talk to the soul with no lyrics at all if you let your spirit open and free.
My name is Iordanis Sidiropoulos (Ιορδάνης Σιδηρόπουλος in Greek) but I think, based on personal experience, that my name can be read easier as just "iordAnis" from the English speakers and Latin alphabet users. Therefore I consider my instrumental project as a parallel to the rest whilst everything keeps going on productively.
My first official release will have the title "As the leaves fall" and is one of my most loved compositions, full of melodies and images. You can have a taste of the new tracks below straight from my new Soundcloud profile:

Since moving to Dublin in 2018 iordAnis has performed his music compositions and songs on guitar and piano for the Hellenic Institute of Dublin on several occasions and in different venues such as the United Arts Club and the Grand Social on which occasion he collaborated with Irish artist Dónal Lunny.
Last year he got invited to collaborate on a musical and literature project as part of a series of events commemorating the Irish writer Seamus O' kelly centenary. These events were organised by a group of Seamus O' Kelly' s enthusiasts in several venues around Dublin encompassing readers, actors and story tellers. iordAnis composed and performed two tracks on the piano singing Seamus O' Kelly poems, "The Thatcher" and the "Fisherman" which were recently performed also at the Mansion House in Dublin in the presence of the Lord Mayor as part of a lunch time shared reading of Seamus O' Kelly' s short story.
iordAnis has recently composed a collection of 9 piano tracks for the duration of 26 minutes. This contemporary classic music album called "As The leaves fall" is a hymn to nature and its urge to protect and nurture our natural environment. The album is due to be released soon and toured in Ireland and Greece in Autumn to celebrate the season of the falling leaves.
